Capricorn Ridge Pygmy Goats

Pygmy goats are an exciting new addition to Australia and are proving to be popular with breeders and those looking for a few friendly pet goats. Pygmy’s are noticeably smaller than other breeds we currently have in Australia, they are stocky little animals with short legs and little pot bellies. They are naturally friendly and make fantastic pets.
We are introducing new Pygmy genetics into Tasmania so can provide you with unrelated bucks and does.
Goats are a great way to clear invasive weeds from the environment and our Pygmy’s are no different. An internet search will show they can and prefer to eat almost all invasive weed species with little to no ill health effects and seeds do not make it through their digestive systems. Our neighbours paddocks are full of Serrated tussock and our paddocks are free of this and all weed species!
.
Kids arrive each Spring and can leave at 8-10 weeks once weaned. Some breeding stock may also be available each year once they have weaned their young. There is a high demand for both kids and adults, so please see the “for sale” page for details on this years goat availability or to join our waiting list. Once again the herd has tested clear of both CEA and Johnes diseases, 13th November 2019
As goat enthusiasts, we are always happy to assist people who would like to join the Miniature Goat Breeders Association, or those who just want to add new fur baby members to their animal family. For additional information on Pygmy’s and other miniature goat breeds available in Australia please see www.mgba.com.au
